SWALC
SWALC is a unique FREE arts-based Saturday afternoon event, creating an easy relaxed environment where established and upcoming novelists, TV dramatists, screenwriters, poets, graphic novelists, artists, designers, musicians and comedians mix freely with their public, interspersed with live music and award-winning short films.
Previous guest writers have included ALAN MARTIN (Tank Girl), Hugo Award winning PAUL CORNELL (also Dr Who, Merlin), novelist NICK HARKAWAY (Gone Away World/Angelmaker), KIM NEWMAN (Critic and novelist), TV writers MATTHEW GRAHAM (Life on Mars), SARAH LOUISE HAWKINS (Waterloo Road), STUART MORRIS (The Bill), JEFF POVEY (Eastenders), SI SPENCER (Grange Hill/Hellblazer), DAVID QUANTICK (NME/Harry Hill), John Lennon bed-in member GAIL RENARD (Give Me a Chance) and crime writer SI SPURRIER (The Contract).

Live music has been provided by HOODLUM ANGELS (Ex–That Petrol Emotion/The Undertones), JUSTIN EDWARDS (Thick of it/Newsjack), PAUL MOSLEY (Ex-Moses), THE DURELL FAMILY, CHERRY WHITE and a host of upcoming talent in genres as varied as ambient trip-hop, Punjabi electro-fusion and Gypsy swing.
